Mining heritage

Mining. It was really something in Limburg. It all began in 1901 when André Dumont discovered coal in our region. Men came over from all corners to work as miners: from Poland, Italy, Spain, Turkey... In short, from everywhere. And of course, they brought their families with them. And their delicious cuisine!

The collieries today
