BAST : Slow down among the trees

BAST is tucked away among the trees on a wooded hillside at the edge of the Haspengouw region. From the house, you look out over rolling fields, while large windows bring the landscape and its ever-changing light indoors.

The cabin was designed and built with great attention to detail. Almost all furniture is custom-made, from the sofa by the wood stove to the kitchen island in warm natural tones. The interior is calm and understated, with natural materials and a strong connection to its surroundings.

At the heart of the house is an open patio with a freestanding bath beneath a skylight. A place to slow down, read a book, or simply enjoy the moment. From the bed, you can watch the sunrise over the fields. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, oven and induction cooktop. Hidden behind a large sliding wall is a minimalist bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Outside, you'll find space, nature and uninterrupted views. Enjoy breakfast on the terrace, listen to the birds in the trees, explore the surrounding countryside or end the day around the fire pit. Life moves a little slower here.

Although BAST feels far removed from the rush of everyday life, it is only a short distance from everything Haspengouw has to offer. Walking and cycling routes lead through orchards, sunken lanes, castles and rolling landscapes. The region is also known for its local food, charming towns and cultural heritage.
