De Groote Mot & De Clee Winery
In 1989, a group of wine enthusiasts planted a vineyard in the Mot valley “de Groote Mot”. Later, in 1995, the ' Gilde der Loonse Wynluyden' (the Guild of Winegrowers) came into existence.
A new extension followed in 2010 when the vineyard on the domain of the Clee castle in Kuttekoven was planted. The first wine ,Kasteel De Clee, was bottled in 2013.
Since 2020, the wine cellars and wine experience site can be found on the site of the syrup factory in Borgloon.
The 'Gilde der Loonse Wynluyden' organises the wine festivals every 2 years, in cooperation with the city of Borgloon (3rd Sunday of September).
