Discover a special piece of nature and follow the signposts with an orange sphere for a hike covering 7.7 km through the Kattenbos. This area is particularly rich in pine forests. Efforts by Natuurpunt and the Agency for Nature and Forests aim for it to slowly evolve back into a deciduous forest.
Immediately after the start, you come across the Leyssensmolen, a restored corn mill dating from 1797. If you happen to be out and about on the first Sunday or third Saturday of the month, you can visit the mill for free.
The 'Kattenbosser Heide' is one of the most beautiful parts of Bosland National Park. Home to juniper and the nightjar as well as rare flora and fauna.
In addition, the hike offers a fascinating exploration of ten landscape sites. The vantage points will stop you in your tracks, providing a remarkable view of the surroundings.
