De Wijers: Walking area Herkenrode Abbey

The walks around the historic site of Herkenrode Abbey allow you to experience the unique atmosphere of this monumental former women’s abbey. The artwork “Clausura”, which brings the lost abbey church back to life, already rises in the distance as you arrive. The gatehouse welcomes you to the site. The different walking routes combine centuries-old heritage with the surrounding pond landscape.
