Bosland National Park: Hike Grote Hof - Hobos

Grote Hof - Hobos: Pristine Nature in a Mysterious Forest
A visit to the 143-hectare Hobos estate takes you several centuries back in time. The name means "high-lying forest," as it is situated on one of the highest points in Overpelt. It is the home of Drossaard Clerckx, the famous judge who sent dozens of Bokkenrijders to the scaffold. Today, it is a beautiful, pristine piece of nature free from pesticides, with a historic manor house and farm. You’ll discover ancient landscape features, as well as wet and dry natural areas that are home to rare species like the nightjar and the smooth snake.
The Grote Hof is also a remarkable part of Overpelt’s heritage. In short: a hike that beautifully combines culture and nature in an idyllic way!
