German war cemetery Lommel

The largest German war cemetery in Western Europe, with the final resting place for 39 108 soldiers who fell during the Second World War, lies in Lommel. Built between 1946 and 1950, soldiers who were found all over Belgium, were buried here. The cemetery also hosts the graves of 483 soldiers from WWI.
Every Wednesday at 14.00, from April till November you can join a guide for a tour on the cemetery.

After a visit to this spectacular place, you can have a lovely coffee, or enjoy the delicious "Lommelse Meatballs in a Sahara Sauce", in our cosy cafe "Hof ten Vrede".
