We warm up our legs, cycling past the De Spaanjerd marina and the lakes of the Meuse river. This stage is the longest of all and takes us through the rural north of the province where fields, meadows, forests, heather, and green stream valleys alternate. The countryside is flat, so it is easy cycling here. The route takes us by old watermills and windmills. We pass the towns Kinrooi, Bree, and Peer. In Hechtel-Eksel, we cycle through the trees. This experience path takes you into higher realms. Quite literally - because you cycle via a double circle up to a height of 10 metres between the canopies. The route takes us to the German military cemetery in Lommel and we squeeze the brakes one last time at the large glass tower of the Glass House. Time for a drink!
