The impressive, restored Energy building (Energiegebouw) is the beating heart of C-mine. There, you will find the C-mine visitors’ reception, where you can go with all your questions about the site, as well as activities and excursions in Genk and the surrounding area.

Terhills covers an area of approximately 356 ha in Dilsen-Stokkem and Maasmechelen, on the edge of the National Park. Shaped by its past as an industrial mining and gravel extraction site, today the area is characterized by lush fauna and flora, huge bodies of water and unique views from the mining slag heaps.

One of the eye-catchers of the PIT project is the see-through church by the Belgian architect duo Gijs Van Vaerenbergh (Pieterjan Gijs and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh). Reading between the Lines is 10 metres high and consists of 100 stacked layers of steel plate in the shape of a small church of Loon.
The construction weighs a whopping 30 tons. The special way of construction makes the landscape always visible throughout the church, from far away and up-close. The church is therefore present but also absent in the landscape.

You can’t miss it: the old Herkenrode Abbey Site exudes tranquillity, a link to the past and hospitality. The historic buildings have been restored, enterprising partners have made it a place for everyone, and the surrounding nature reveals its charm every season. Herkenrode Abbey Site invites you to relax and enjoy at your own pace. There is so much to do here, but nothing is compulsory. There’s something for everyone.

Once upon a time Herkenrode was the richest women's abbey in the Low Countries. The historic buildings have now been beautifully restored. The Experience Centre immerses you in the history of this unique site. But Herkenrode Abbey Site is about more than just history.

It is also a 100-hectare oasis of peace in a stunning nature reserve. Around the Abbey buildings, footpaths lead you to De Wijers with its 1,001 ponds.
In the Herb and Inspiration Garden, you become one with nature.

By car
On the E313 (Antwerp-Liège) take exit 27 (Hasselt-West). Follow the N2 direction Herk-De-Stad. Just after Decathlon, turn right. From there, follow the signs to the Abbey Site’s free car park.

By public transport
Take the train to Hasselt station. At the station square take bus 51 Heusden to the stop 'Herkenrode Brug'.

There are plenty of reasons to become acquainted with the imposing Landcommandery Alden Biesen, a fascinating location of exceptional historical significance. Once the headquarters of the Teutonic Order, today a magnificent heritage site owned by the Flemish government. Historical monument, tourist attraction, setting for events and exhibitions, center for European operations and congress center...Alden Biesen is it all! The domain itself, the church, the English and French gardens and the tourist reception center are free to visit. The moated castle with the restored apartment of the Grand Commander can only be visited with a guide or during a temporary exhibition.
