‘Cycling through the Heathland’ in Hoge Kempen National Park

As well as ‘Cycling through Water’ in Bokrijk and ‘Cycling through the Trees’ in Bosland, Visit Limburg opened its third major cycling experience in July 2021: ‘Cycling through the Heathland’ in Hoge Kempen National Park, a cycle path of 4 km, cuts through the national park in Belgium. The new, iconic wooden cycle bridge, which is 300 m long, stands out as a feature in the landscape and leads you to a stunning, panoramic view.

The route forms the connection between the cycle nodes 550 and 551. It's an exceptional connection because you cycle right through the Mechelse Heide which, at 700 hectares, is one of the largest areas of heathland in Flanders.
