Cycling experiences Through the moorlands Through the woods

This gently undulating cycling route takes you through the Hoge Kempen National Park. This region has been shaped by its past as an industrial mining and gravel extraction site. From Terhills, the former mine site of Eisden, it goes straight through the garden district to the Mechelse Heide. The ‘Cycle through Heathland’ experience route presents you with unique views of the heath landscape alternating with rough pine forests. The former gravel extraction site creates beautiful water features in the valley of the Kikbeek spring further on. It continues through shady forests in the direction of Pietersheim. Here, everything revolves around the history of the photogenic castle and the 12th-century moated castle. Another topper for your Instagram feed? Oud-Rekem, the most beautiful village in Flanders.
