St Gangulfus church

This cruciform church with small built-in west tower and semicircular apse is the oldest and most beautiful church in Sint-Truiden. Sint-Gangulfus church is a textbook example of Romanesque architecture. The nave with typical round-arch windows is built of marlstone and dates from the 11th century. The choir is a century younger. The church arms date from the 16th century and are Gothic. The side aisles and wooden attic cladding are 18th-century.
