Cycling through a mosaic of ponds

Discover the impressive mining heritage and the child-friendly domains in The De Wijers pond landscape. On and along the old coal track Kolenspoor, you pass through forests, moorland, and you cycle right through the water. Before you know it, you’ll arrive at Domein Kiewit, where you can take a break on the pleasant terrace while the children run off to the petting zoo and playground. From there, you cycle along the Albert Canal to the Herkenrode Abbey. Afterwards, even more stunning nature awaits: ponds, fens, dunes, forests, and heathland stretching as far as the eye can see.
