On this cycling route, you explore the northern part of the Hoge Kempen National Park. You start in Oudsbergen for a ride that first passes through Duinengordel, a wooded area known for its sand dunes. Via Opglabbeek and As, you wind through a varied landscape of woods, stream valleys, and meadows.
At Station As, trains adorned with graffiti art decorate the old station site along the Coal Track. You cycle straight towards Terhills, where "Cycling between the Mine Dumps" offers an impressive piece of cycling infrastructure. The floating bike bridge takes you from the twin spoil tip to the panoramic spoil tip across the gravel lake, a unique construction of its kind. The mine site itself calls for a short stop and a climb of one of the headframes.
Along the Zuid-Willemsvaart, you cycle to the hidden gem of Bergerven, where wild grazers greet you along expansive water features. You follow the flow of the Bosbeek through a wooded environment back to the starting point near the Oudsberg, where you complete this varied route.
