Pijnven – orange hiking route

Visit Bosland National Park and thoroughly immerse yourself in the wonderful forest atmosphere on the orange route. On this hike you discover old forest lanes and majestic American oaks, you traverse coniferous forests, and clearings, where the remains of heathland create a tranquil scene.

Pijnven tells its own story, from the coniferous forests planted in the past for timber to use in the mines to the sustainable forest management currently implemented by the Agency for Nature and Forests. Besides an abundance of natural splendour, it also boasts architectural gems such as the Treehouse, a unique tree house venue for special meetings on sustainability. The highlight of the route, quite literally and figuratively, is the monumental 'Cycling through the Trees' cycle bridge, a real eye-catcher that blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings.

Children can run around and build camps in the play forest and playing fields along the route. They can have even more fun climbing and scrambling about on the additional play elements.
