In the “House of Lotte and Giel”, children enjoy themselves between different chicken and rabits breeds.

Rabbit Lotte and rooster Giel will tell you everything you need to know about all their animal friends. Through various colorful information panels and interactive games, the children are introduced to the wonderful world of rabbits and chickens. Our alpacafarm is an activity farm where you can enjoy an original day out in the company of over 70 alpacas. We offer all kinds of fun activities, suited for a family outing, a fun day with friends, a romantic afternoon with your better half or even a bachelorettes. Activities range from guided tours to relaxing alpaca walks, to playing Farmers Golf and leading an alpaca over an obstacle course... The possibilities are endless and our English speaking guides are happy to explain everything to you in English.

De Alpacaboerderij is also open for individual visitors, without booking an activity or guide. Check the contact page for the opening hours (Openingsuren zonder reservatie). You only have to pay a small entrance fee to see the alpacas in the pastures or barn, pet them, take photos with them and feed them some kibble which you can buy on site.

Would you like to see an alpaca up close, discover their curiosity and feel how soft they really are?

These woolly creatures are the focus of attention at Alpaca Tumulus in Gingelom.
They are a true example of craftsmanship. They breed the animals, insist on the best nutrition, shear the animals themselves and process this into their own designed quality wool in their in-house spinning mill.

Embedded in the peace of the beautifull scenery, you can meet these wonderful animals. They are used to being around people, so even the youngsters will come close.
In july and august, you can count on meeting a baby alpaca.

Combine the Waterburcht or a walk in Hoge Kempen National Park with a visit to the children's farm, one of the nine local gates of the Hoge Kempen National Park. A pleasant stroll among the many farm animals ... it is an experience for everyone, and admission is free!

In the cuddle paddock there are sheep and goats that may be gently cuddled under supervision. You will also find cows, chickens, rabbits, ducks, geese, pigs, deer and donkeys at the children's farm. Don't forget to visit the Huis van Lotte & Giel, a small livestock shed for rabbits and poultry with various information panels and interactive games.

Petting Farm de Streekhoeve aims to bring children (and adults) back closer to nature and farm animals.
We do this through open days (April, May, June, September on Sundays and during school holidays on Wednesdays and Sundays), farm camps, educational parties and workshops, ...

We are open between the first Sunday of the Easter holidays and 30/09.

The farmer at this sheep farm lives with about 70 productive dairy sheep and 150 lambs. With sheep farmer Willy, you'll see how these animals are milked, sheared and cared for. You will also taste delicious ice cream and different types of cheese.

The PVL was founded in 1989, with practical research into fodder crops and the stable infrastructure for pigs and dairy cattle as its core tasks. Later, this was also extended to projects on agricultural nature management and small-scale water purification. PVL also manages an extensive range of after-school training: courses, practical lessons and study tours on cattle breeding, vegetable cultivation, fodder crops and farm management.

What is there to see?
- Dairy farm: cows are milked with a robot.
- Pig farm: this is the only farm that can be visited in a sanitary and safe manner, as the stables are equipped with a visitor's corridor
- Water purification street: here, various systems of KWZ (Small Scale Water Purification) are set up.
