The railway station of central Limburg's As was once the arrival point for thousands of miners. Now this green community is one of the gateways to the Hoge Kempen National Park and the starting point for your hike or bike ride through the vast forests.
Things to do in As
Station As is gateway to the Hoge Kempen National Park. You have a choice of walking routes from 3 to 16 km. On the site itself, you can't just pass by the graffiti artwork The Yard 2.0 and the observation tower.
Cycle tours through the mining region start at As station, located at cycle junction 41. We have already mapped out a route for you: The beating heart of the Hoge Kempen.
Practical in As
- For more information, visit the visitors' centre at As Station in the summer season and the tourist office in winter.
- Bicycles can be rented at the rental outlet of Fietsparadijs Limburg at Station As.
- The nearest train station is Genk. There are direct buses between Genk and As.
