Schulensbroek is a wetland nature reserve with the Schulensmeer at its centre. On the orange hiking route, you stroll leisurely along the dykes and take a full tour around the lake. You also explore the surrounding wet grasslands full of canals, reed beds and pollard willows.
Schulensmeer is a bird's paradise. Waterbirds bob on the water's surface, while the vast grasslands attract many grassland birds. If you want to do some birdwatching a pair of binoculars wouldn’t go amiss. In autumn, there’s a chance of seeing an osprey. The area is managed by Natuurpunt.
