The hiking area of Pietersheim is part of the Hoge Kempen National Park. The purple hiking route starts at the impressive domain of La Butte aux Bois restaurant and hotel. This already gives you a taster of what to expect on the rest of the hike. After all, it’s no coincidence that this route has been awarded the Premium label by the Deutsche Wanderinstitut.
Following a small forest path along the old beech avenue, you delve deeper and deeper into nature. Nature consisting mainly of forests, heathland and ponds. You explore the Ziepbeek Valley and climb to the edge of the Hoge Kempen, where superb views of the heathland await.
