Dauteweyers-Dorpsbemden is the southernmost part of De Wijers, a pond landscape spanning central Limburg. Discover the natural beauty on the blue route through the area managed by Natuurpunt and Limburgs Landschap. The wetland landscape, criss-crossed by the river Demer and several streams, offers an alternating landscape of ponds, marsh forests and flower-filled meadows.
The hike takes you from the Demerstrand in the direction of the river Demer. You cross the river via an adventurous tree bridge. You meander between Dautenbeek and Kaatsbeek towards the charming Dauteweyers. The rare tree frogs that have made this wonderful place their home are particularly charming.
The paths can be very muddy in wet weather. Despite the potential challenges, the stunning nature invites you to explore this unique area, with or without your wellington boots.
