The town of Stokkem and Oud-Dilsen are anchors of a rich Maasland regional history.

You can also take beautiful walks here: in the Negenoord nature reserve of approx. 200 ha.

Water sports and coming home at Sailcenter Limburg is the rental company where you take a step further and you always have the wind with you.

With us you can rent sailing and motorboats, rowing boats, sloops, Treibgut camping rafts, kayaks, canoes, supboards and pedal boats.
You can take sailing lessons with the whole family or alone. Children from the age of 6 are welcome but also people in their 80s are welcome. A holiday at the waterfront is possible; with us you can spend the night on sailing rafts or in a chalet.

Come and enjoy with the whole family.
If you only have a short time then an hour on the water is also good to do. The pedal boat, supboard or canoe will take you to paradise on earth.

Can you organize something for family, friends or a company outing? We are happy to put together a day program or half day with you. We will be happy to discuss appropriate catering and it will be a day to remember.

The game is fully playable in English!
It is also accessible by everyone.
Children from ages 10 and up can perfectly play the game under supervision.

Some locations have already received an extra construction, like the Irish Cross in Lafelt, where an audio presentation in open air brings the bloody Battle of Lafelt back to life.

The Molenvijver & sundial park

The Molenvijver Park in the centre of Genk was originally a swampland that was fed by the Dorpsbeek. In 1967, the Molenvijvers were converted into a city park. The authentic watermill is now a restaurant.

You have a view from the Molenvijvers Park onto the most beautiful villas in Molenstraat. Number 80 is La Maison Blanche, the artist Armand Maclot’s villa.

You’ll also find a sundial park here, with no fewer than 12 ways to tell the time.
In this park in Genk you’ll find 12 contemporary sundials. They were designed byJan De Graeve with the help of gnomonists and artists from various European countries. The project brings together scientific ingenuity, modern technology and artistic design. Discover the creativity of scientists and the reasoning of artists or ... how art and science can complement each other. Even when the sun isn’t shining, it’s certainly worth visiting the park.

Molenheide wildlife and walking park is a 100 ha fenced off nature area, where inland animals can live in their natural environment: roe deers, wild boars, squirrels, rabbits and bies.

There are 3 marked out walking paths or 'wildlife paths':

Children's path 1,6 km
Boar path 3.7 km

In the woods canteen you can take a quiet break while the children enjoy the playground under the watchful eye of their parents. You can also bring your dog if it is on a lead.

! Nature restoration works will take place in the coming years.

Get a Boeboek Bag in ‘De Watersnip’ and do fun tasks in the woods together with Piepel and Soeza. Make a cake with materials found in the forest or make a drawing using berry juice, use the magnifying glass to look for creepy crawlies or play a round of pinecone petanque.

The path is about 1.5 km long and can easily be done with an all-terrain buggy.

The sliding windows, three-dimensional viewers, tunnels, doors, puzzles, sounds, lights and pictures of the nature-led educational exhibition reveal some of the secrets of that wonderful Voer-region. Did you know for instance that badgers and escargots or Roman snails are true inhabitants of Voeren? And that the mistletoe is hanging in the poplars as a real Christmas decoration?

Let’s take a look …
Four inhabitants of Voeren welcome the visitor in their dialect. This immediately rouses the interest to get to know this “strange” region.
Next a panoramic view and a movie reveal a number of other secrets.
Through sliding panels you learn more about geology, the subsoil and the landscape. Interesting facts regarding fauna and flora are discovered in a playful way. By way of puzzles, buttons, tunnels, sounds and lights you get acquainted with a number of “special hosts” such as the badger, the escargot, the trout, the nurse-frog, the fire salamander, etc. “Southern and chalk loving plants” such as the mistletoe, wild marjoram, orchids, honeysuckle, red elderberry also love the region of Voeren ….
But not only nature is a main attraction point as the region also has a number of other worthwhile sights of interest such as the villages with their monumental and historic buildings and timbered houses: certainly worth a visit.
Beautiful pictures and pieces of craftsmanship will certainly rouse your interest. And the cow with a tower of milk will amaze every “townsman or woman”.
