At Kisserhoeve, we offer a variety of different donkey experiences in Kempen~Broek. Kempen~Broek is a veritable patchwork of different landscapes, where marshes feature alongside brook valleys, fens, woods, heath, meadows, pastures, fields and large-scale agricultural areas. In short, something for everyone, with water as the recurring theme.

Our experiences:

- Donkey walk
You’ll get to lead our easy-going donkeys on a walk. Once you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by our team, and given a 15-minute introductory session going over health and safety, and to pair you up with the perfect donkey for you! Then, it’s time to set off! You’ll walk alongside your donkey and lead them around rural roads and nature.
You'll receive a backpack with a snack for you and the donkeys!
You can choose two distances, 5 km and 6,5 km.

Happiness... is making memories together!

- Kisserweide experience (only in spring-summer)
For a few hours you will have our grassland: 'Kisserweide' with the donkeys. You can freely use the accommodation. Taking care of the donkeys, taking a walk. Playing with games from "the wooden cabin", relaxing in the sitting area with picnic table. You can choose whatever you want to do, there is no timetable for activities. Picnic is allowed. Hiking trails to use with the donkeys are available.

Tucked away in Kattevennen just behind the Visitor Centre you’ll find a picnic spot with a difference. Named Corpus, it was designed by nature artist Will Beckers. Visitors sit cheek by jowl in a large mown circle, cocooned by a sculpture made of corten steel and tree branches. A unique experience!

If you’re looking for a fun activity for a group that includes children, put on your walking shoes and head for Heempark, situated between Kattevennen and the centre of Genk. There are many delightful picnic spots in and around Bilzen and especially Alden Biesen, that you can use the whole year round. Just take a seat at one of the brand-new picnic tables in the English park, sit on the lawn with a view of the castle, or choose your picnic spot in the largest orchard in Flanders.
A path of about 2 km enables even persons with reduced mobility to enjoy the fruit trees in their full splendour. They can explore them up close using the raised wooden footpath that winds its way through the orchard.
You can bring your own picnic or you can order a basket from the Bilzen Tourist Information Centre carefully composed of the most delicious local products (to be collected during opening hours of the Tourist Information Centre).

The first barefoot path in Flanders

Take off your shoes and socks and walk almost 3 km on a controlled surface of wood, stones, tree chips, grass, loam and water.
Every step stimulates your feet and senses. Walk through ponds, climb sandy hills and steep slopes and find your way through a labyrinth.
An 18-metre-high wooden watchtower gives you a beautiful view of the surroundings. At the most beautiful and quiet places, there are swinging benches. There is also an adventurous rope bridge that spans the main entrance to the visitor centre.

In a beautiful landscape you can discover this new game. In a 30 ha valley a farmers golf course of about 2.5 km has been built that is accessible to everyone.
