Kelchterhoef is often associated with water. Rightly because the recreation park 'De Plas' has everything for a day out with water fun for the whole family: a swimming pond of about 20 ha, and a beach with delimited swimming zone.
From 1 July to 31 August inclusive you can swim every day between 10am and 6pm in the well-defined swimming area, provided lifeguards are present. The green flag means that swimming is permitted.

Ever been out with a donkey? Experience nature in a unique way with a donkey as a guide. The walks continue in the beautiful, wooded area of Bosland. Our long-ears give you a different view of your walking experience. After the success of these walks we have decided that they should be accessible to everyone and we have proceeded to the purchase of an "escargoline". This lightweight trolley can be used on any terrain and is propelled by a sweet long-ear. Two children, a disabled person and / or a senior, can sit comfortably and, together with family or friends, go over heather and through forest. Moreover, our friend is happy to carry the picnic. After your adventure you are of course welcome in the home of our donkeys. There you can enjoy our traditional fresh ice cream. Do you dare to take on this challenge? Do not hesitate to contact us. Welcome to the universe of water and a covered swimming paradise!

In the 4 indoor swimming pools there is something for everyone.

Infants and toddlers will become true water rats after a visit to the kiddie pool (depth: ± 11 to 21 cm and 32°C) with its colourful slides, bubbling mushrooms and splashing fountains. Quenching gnomes and water dispensing animals will provide lots of fun!

After first getting accustomed to the water here, the children can learn to swim in the children's pool (depth: ± 50 - 70 cm and 30°C). Its specially adapted depth gives a feeling of security.

In the 25-meter pool (depth: ± 129 cm and 29°C) mum and dad can do their 'healty' metres. Swimming lengths is in again.

Real daredevils then whizz down the gigantic chutes at dizzying speed. New ar the Super Aqua Wizz and the Black Hole & Star Glide! A huge splash in the flume pool gives a kick to both young and old!

ndoor Golf Adventure "The Mine" is the newest attraction at Park Molenheide and winner of the THEA-award for outstanding achievement worldwide in 2009.

An adventurous golf cours, built like a mine, where light, smell, sound and movement play an important role. An elevator will bring you to an altitude of 7,5 m where the search for Carlo Carbone, the miner, can begin.

You will descend three meters by making your way through mine shafts outfitted with a creaking conveyor belt, a rusty sorting machine and a shack of a power room that seems as it could cave in at any moment. Pickaxes and boots are strewn along the pathways. The path vibrates because of the drilling and the machine room is still full of activity.

Like a miner you descend into the mine while playing and discovering many types of mines like diamond and gold mines. You can even meet some dinosaurs.

The ideal trip for young and old.

The longest water slide takes you through the many bends with a devilish speed. In the tube slide you can even slide with your own rubber boat!
The little ones can splash around to their hearts. The soil is only 30 cm deep and runs very gently to a maximum depth of 1.80 m.

Children can romp in our large playground. Slide down the slide, crawl into the carousel, dive into the swing basket. Climb the space net or conquer the climbing fort!

In short, everything to spend a nice day with the children.

The end of 2010 saw the opening of Aquadroom, by far the finest pool complex in Limburg, with a beautifully designed paddling and recreational pool together with a 25-metre competition pool. There is plenty to attract adventurous visitors, too, with two exciting slides, one more spectacular than the other. We now also have an impressive outdoor swimming pool for enthusiasts of all ages and sizes.

Fun treasure hunt 'Where's Cyriel?'

Who is Cyriel? What did he do in Winterslag mine? And where is Cyriel now? You will find the answers to all these questions during this fun game. Hold on tight, as you will dive below ground in the corridors of the C-mine expedition, no less than 6 metres deep!

You will gather tips through a range of activity tasks. They will allow you to find the answer to the question 'Where's Cyriel?' Unravel the mystery and - who knows - you might just win a medal for your performance!

The game is played in the C-mine expedition and is suitable for children aged 6 to 12 years. (only in Dutch)

On the banks of the 40 hectare pond you'll find the bicycle café, a sunbathing area and playground, benches, a beach and an adventurous pirate's ship. For fishermen there are demarcated zones and a few fishing jetties. The cycling path around the pond is part of the cycling route network. It is eagerly used by ramblers and cyclists.
It's also possible to go on the water. The Paalse Plas has been the home port of sailing and windsurf club Sirocco for years. There is a sandy beach for sun worshippers. The demarcated swimming pond is open in July and August.
The beautiful Millennium golf course, which is part of the domain, makes the “most beautiful spot in the world” complete.

The Paalse Plas is a private water with a public character. Those who fish on the Paalse Plas must submit to the legislation on river fishing of 1954, the decision of the Flemish Government of 1 February 2013 to execute this law, and local police regulations.
In addition to a Flemish fishing permit you'll also need a municipal fishing permit.
The badge that is needed to open the barrier at the fishermen's road and the municipal permit can be acquired at the Tourism, Recreation and Events Office. This office is located in the mine's entrance building (Tourist Reception), Koolmijnlaan 203. It is open from Monday to Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Molenheide wildlife and walking park is a 100 ha fenced off nature area, where inland animals can live in their natural environment: roe deers, wild boars, squirrels, rabbits and bies.

In the woods canteen you can take a quiet break while the children enjoy the playground under the watchful eye of their parents. You can also bring your dog if it is on a lead.

A water paradise for anyone who loves the sun and water!

You don’t need to be a water rat to enjoy yourself at this special water paradise. There’s so much to do you won’t know where to start jumping in and swimming. For the very smallest members of your family, there’s a lovely water playground. The outdoor baths are open from 1st July to 31st August. Then there’s also the wave pool, water playground, waterslide, fast-flowing river, water cannon and fountains.

When the weather is less fine, the indoor pool with its hot whirlpool is a great way to relax. And you can also get away from all that swimming and larking about and relax on the expansive sun lawn. The large terraces with catering facilities have great views out over the swimming paradise.
