Gerhagen – stiltepad (quiet path)

Gerhagen is the green lung of Tessenderlo and is located at the crossroads where Limburg, Flemish Brabant and Antwerp meet. Together with the Merode forests it forms one of the largest forest areas. Gerhagen was the first site in Flanders to receive the ‘Erkend Stiltegebied’ (Recognised Quiet Area) quality label. 

On the Stiltepad, you experience the tranquillity of nature to the full. Pick up a free ‘quiet map’ and ‘quiet backpack’ at the Bosmuseum to make the most of it. The only thing you’ll hear are chirping birds, whispering trees and the rustling of the forest. Be sure to stop at the daydream bench, a work of art by Raphaël Timmermans, and let your thoughts wander.
